- Can you remove a password I do not know?
- No. Unlock PDF only removes protection when you supply the correct password. PDFYoga does not attempt to crack or bypass encryption.
- What encryption is used when I protect a PDF?
- AES-256, the current standard for PDF password protection, applied in your browser. Any reader that supports modern PDF encryption will prompt for your password.
- Is my password sent anywhere?
- No. The password is used locally to encrypt or decrypt the document on your device. Neither the file nor the password leaves your browser.
- What if I lose the password afterwards?
- The document cannot be recovered — that is the point of real encryption. Store the password in a password manager before you share the protected file.
