About this tool

Compress PDF reduces file size with three levels: Low for higher quality, Recommended for a balance, and Strong for the smallest file. After processing you see the before and after size, plus the percentage saved.

Not every PDF can shrink meaningfully. Image-heavy and scanned documents usually compress well; text-only PDFs are often already close to their minimum size and may barely change. We show real numbers rather than promising a fixed ratio.

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is read from disk by the page, processed with WebAssembly and JavaScript on your device, and the result is created locally. Nothing is uploaded to a PDFYoga server.

FAQ

How much smaller will my file get?
It depends entirely on the content. Scanned documents often drop by half or more; text-only PDFs may change very little.
Will text stay sharp?
Yes. Text is vector data and is not re-rendered. Compression mainly affects embedded images.
Why is my compressed file the same size?
Because there was nothing left to remove. A PDF that is mostly text has almost no redundant data.
When is this tool available?
